Last night was tons of fun! Sigma Chi Derby Days is going on all this week all over the country... so there has been lots of excitement and running around going on in Zeta! Tonight we are dancing at Club Light which should be pretty interesting haha... I hope my dancing skills increase between now and three this afternoon! Right now I'm jamming out to some Sister Hazel- haven't done that since Junior year at Hammond. Brings back tons of memories.
So... my Dad sent me a picture of Lake K yesterday. They have just started filling it back up with water. The whole process has been amazing to watch. They didn't dig out that pond, but they put a whole new piping system in the dam and rebuilt it. I looks really different now. I can't wait for it to be completely full. It will be interesting to really get to observe those big gators...
back to Chucktown. I have been working a lot on my art project for Thursday... It is a pencil interpretation of this picture that I took in October with EP.
I have been having some trouble getting the black area black enough with the pencil. Also, I want to interpret the spanish moss well, but I am not sure how to accurately do it with the pops of light. I have to continue to remind myself that when you're drawing something, you need to see things simply as shapes and tones. I tend to get too bunked down in my goal for the end result that I can't truly give focus to those little, specific things I need to work on.
Sound familiar of everyday life? It certainly does for me.
Happy Tuesday,
Love,
Gumbo
